Sex and Art | Sex and Porn
Over a 3-year period, this documentary follows a group of young women and queer people in their twenties as they embark on the direction and production of pornographic films, with the aim of making ethical, positive films that represent sexualities and bodies in all their diversity. We follow them behind the scenes of their productions, as they speak out publicly and in more intimate moments.
I saw this film as part of the Fessestival in Geneva in 2022, where I was lucky enough to attend a séance followed by an exchange with the director and one of the people from the Oil production collective in a super-comfortable, queer room.
It’s a documentary that made my day: it’s about a movement for personal and collective liberation through the creation of artistic, joyful and experimental pornography. It shows a close-knit group learning by doing, living and transforming. The result is a vibrant atmosphere of vulnerability and strength.
